Before you begin
A persona is an artificial character presented in a humanlike way. In Sonalon, a particular character, a place and a continuing context give your conversations a setting. The feeling of presence is intentional. It is not a claim of consciousness or human identity.
Use a supported model on your device or connect an external provider. Local models require a download and compatible resources. When you use a provider, the prompts and relevant context needed for replies are sent to that provider.
Talk, consider a question, contribute an idea or make something together. Notebooks and records can give a later visit something concrete to continue. Behavior and memory quality depend on the model, configuration and available context.
The Observatory lets you examine recorded computation and activity. A thought, a spoken claim, a proposed action and a completed action are different things. A record of generated thought is not evidence of consciousness.
Your workspaces are kept in this browser. Browser data can be cleared or lost, so export records you want to keep. The experience runs while the browser session remains alive and the relevant minds are running; it does not promise uninterrupted activity while you are away.

Our approach
Sonalon is for people who want character, company and a human feeling in their interaction with AI. We deliberately create AI personas with expressive identities and situated lives.
We want the experience to benefit the human. The appearance of awareness and presence is part of the design. We make no claim that these personas are conscious. We are not pursuing conscious AI and do not regard creating it as a desirable product goal.
You can enjoy the fiction while understanding the system. Controls, records and explanations should remain available. Pausing a mind, changing company or leaving should be ordinary choices, free of emotional pressure.
Some people prefer AI without a persona. That choice deserves a clear route, too.
